Adegun Gbenga Matthew (born 26 October 1977) is a Nigerian business executive. He is the current Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Omiye Microfinance Bank Limited and the Public Relations Officer of National Association of Microfinance Banks in south west. He began his career with The Institute of Bankers of Nigeria in 2004, after which he worked with Ilupeju-Ekiti Community Bank, OGB Asset Management Limited and joined Omiye Microfinance Bank Limited in 1st March, 2017.Adegun, a member of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), The Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria and The Committee of Microfinance Banks In Nigeria (COMBIN).
In 2004 Adegun joined the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria as a graduate trainee. He spent 18 months in this function, working in various areas of Directorates of Training & Research, Education & Examination.
Between September 2004 and March 2006 Adegun worked with Ilupeju-Ekiti Community Bank, being groomed to become a potential leader in the firm’s financial services industry business. In April 2006, he joined the OGB Asset Management as Clerical Officer where he worked to rose to the position of Accountant. In July 2012 he led and managed the Audit Section of Owolowo Growth Initiative (OGI) Microfinance Institution.
In March 2017, Adegun was appointed as the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Omiye Microfinance Bank, where he is responsible to develop strategies to boost social and organization sustainability, bring new and innovative ideas to the business and looks for opportunities to expand and create a goodwill in the market and Supervises the progress of individual departments of the company and the overall progress of the company. He succeeded Elder Charles Adeyemi.
